After an amazing 23-year career in the broadcast news, I am often asked about some of the stories and issues I have covered along the way and what I am looking into these days. This website is a place where you can find excerpts from my television work beginning with my early years in Los Angeles, where a very young Ginger Casey, fresh out of cutting her news teeth in Reno, Little Rock and Santa Barbara, began the real work of her career. I have included all the later stops; Houston, where I learned that you don’t mess with Texas, San Francisco, where my heart rests to this day and lastly, big little Rhode Island, which was a wicked good place to work and where the people taught me how fierce, proud and loyal New Englanders can be. In the “Videos” section you will hopefully, see my evolution from novice to experienced journalist and meet some of the remarkable people I was fortunate enough to interview and work with along the way.
I invite you to look around. Some of the ongoing work I am doing on behalf of our nation’s wild horses and for those who do not have the ability to advocate for themselves will also be included here under the “Advocacy” section.
I love science and a good mystery and nothing gets my juices going like a great adventure. All three drove me across the ocean a couple of years ago to examine the odd field formations in the UK known as “Crop Circles”, enigmatic, controversial and perhaps even, out of this world. You can watch the resulting video, “Journey of Wonder” in the “Videos” section. I’ll go beyond the headlines on stories involving ancient archeology all the way to the edge of modern scientific thought, two subjects that I find endlessly fascinating, in “Discovery”.
“Journalism” examines the good and bad in how we are informed and how the news industry is evolving. “In the News” contains my opinion pieces. In each section, I will also be incorporating links to a variety of subjects which will give you a deeper view into the topics I write about and sometimes, just a reason to smile.
Since, like my life, this site is designed to be constantly evolving, please feel free to make suggestions on how to make it better. My goal is to make GingerCasey.com an ongoing conversation.
So, thanks for watching, for weighing in and for stopping by!
